“Hold Us Together”

It don’t have a job, don’t pay your bills

Won’t buy you a home in Beverly Hills

Won’t fix your life in five easy steps

Ain’t the law of the land or the government?

But it’s all you need

And love will hold us together

Make us a shelter to weather the storm

And I’ll be my brother’s keeper

So the whole world would know that we’re not alone

It’s waiting for you knocking at your door

In the moment of truth when your heart hits the floor

And you’re on your knees

And love will hold us together

Make us a shelter to weather the storm

And I’ll be my brother’s keeper

So the whole world would know that we’re not alone

This is the first day of the rest of your life

This is the first day of the rest of your life

‘Cause even in the dark you can still see the light

It’s gonna be alright, it’s gonna be alright

This is the first day of the rest of your life

This is the first day of the rest of your life

‘Cause even in the dark you can still see the light

It’s gonna be alright, it’s gonna be alright

Love will hold us together

Make us a shelter to weather the storm

And I’ll be my brother’s keeper

So the whole world would know that we’re not alone

“No Matter What”

(feat. Bart Millard of MercyMe)

A lot of us grew up believing

At any moment we could lose it all

And at the drop of a hat

God might turn his back and move on

A lot of us feel like we blew it

Thinking that we’re just too far gone

But I want you to know

There’s still a hope for you now

No matter what you’ve done

You can’t erase His love

Nothing can change it

You’re not separated

No matter what

There’s never been a better time to get honest

There’s never been a better time to get clean

So come as you are

Run to the cross and be free

Oh be free

No matter what you’ve done

You can’t erase His love

Nothing can change it

You’re not separated

No matter where you run

He’s always holding on

You’re still a daughter, you’re still a son

No matter what

Don’t know what you’ve been taught

Don’t know what you’ve been told

All I know is my God

Will never let go of you

And I don’t know what you’ve seen

Don’t know what you’ve been through

All I know is my God

Will never let go of you

He’ll never let go

He’ll never never never let it go

No matter what you’ve done

You can’t erase His love

Nothing can change it

You’re not separated

No matter where you run

He’s always holding on

You’re still a daughter, you’re still a son

No matter what

You’re still a daughter, you’re still a son

No matter what

“Just Be Held”

Hold it all together

Everybody needs you strong

But life hits you out of nowhere

And barely leaves you holding on

And when you’re tired of fighting

Chained by your control

There’s freedom in surrender

Lay it down and let it go

So when you’re on your knees and answers seem so far away

You’re not alone, stop holding on and just be held

Your world’s not falling apart, it’s falling into place

I’m on the throne, stop holding on and just be held

Just be held, just be held

If your eyes are on the storm

You’ll wonder if I love you still

But if your eyes are on the cross

You’ll know I always have and I always will

And not a tear is wasted

In time, you’ll understand

I’m painting beauty with the ashes

Your life is in My hands

So when you’re on your knees and answers seem so far away

You’re not alone, stop holding on and just be held

Your worlds not falling apart, its falling into place

I’m on the throne, stop holding on and just be held

Just be held, just be held

Lift your hands, lift your eyes

In the storm is where you’ll find Me

And where you are, I’ll hold your heart

I’ll hold your heart

Come to Me, find your rest

In the arms of the God who won’t let go

So when you’re on your knees and answers seem so far away

You’re not alone, stop holding on and just be held

Your worlds not falling apart, its falling into place

I’m on the throne, stop holding on and just be held (stop holding on and just be held)

Just be held, just be held, just be held, just be held

“Breathe”

Alarm clock screaming bare feet hit the floor

It’s off to the races everybody out the door

I’m feeling like I’m falling behind, it’s a crazy life

Ninety miles an hour going fast as I can

Trying to push a little harder trying to get the upper hand

So much to do in so little time, it’s a crazy life

It’s ready, set, go it’s another wild day

When the stress is on the rise in my heart I feel you say just

Breathe, just breathe

Come and rest at my feet

And be, just be

Chaos calls but all you really need

Is to just breathe

Third cup of joe just to get me through the day

Want to make the most of time but I feel it slip away

I wonder if there’s something more to this crazy life

I’m busy, busy, busy, and it’s no surprise to see

That I only have time for me, me, me

There’s gotta be something more to this crazy life

I’m hanging on tight to another wild day

When it starts to fall apart in my heart I hear you say just

Breathe, just breathe

Come and rest at my feet

And be, just be

Chaos calls but all you really need

Is to take it in fill your lungs

The peace of God that overcomes

Just breathe

So let your weary spirit rest

Lay down what’s good and find what’s best

Just breathe

Just breathe, just breathe

Come and rest at my feet

And be, just be

Chaos calls but all you really need

Is to just breathe

Just breathe

Jr. Worship Thursdays

This Week’s Lesson:
We are reading the story Jonah and the Big Fish, learning about how God has a plan for us, and that it is important for us to follow God’s plan for us and not try to make up our own. This story is on page 190 in our Spark Bibles.

HANGING OUT:
Make this week’s lesson real:
This week we are learning about how God has a plan for us, that we may not even know right now, but it’s important that we pray to him and ask him to help keep us on His path for us. How can you and your family pray together?
Sometimes it’s hard for kids to even know WHAT to pray about. Check out our Rainbow Prayer link for more helpful ways to help your kiddos know what to pray about.

AT DINNER:
Here are some discussion starters:
• Where did God want Jonah to go? (Nineveh)
• Why did God want him to go there? (to tell the people that God knew they were not living the way he wanted them to and that he wanted them to change their ways)
• What did Jonah think he could get away with? (taking a boat to get to Nineveh)
• When the storm came what calmed the storm? (throwing Jonah overboard)
• Then what happened to Jonah? (he was swallowed by a whale and had to stay in there for 3 days)
• What did Jonah do while in the whale? (he prayed for God to help him and he told God he was sorry)
• What can we pray to God for?

AT BEDTIME:
Read this bible verse together: Proverbs 3:5
Talk about how God has a plan for us that is bigger than we understand. He set out our path before we were even born. It’s important for us to pray to God and ask him to guide us along the way.

Pray This:
Heavenly Father, Thank you for giving us a future that you know is good for us. We pray that you guide us along the path you set for us. Amen!

Let’s Share Our Crafts:
After you complete any of your “What Can I Do At Home” activities, be sure to have Mom or Dad share a picture with us on the Promise Ministries or Promise Children’s Ministry and Mom Life Page!

Story— Jonah and the Big Fish
Jonah 1: 1-3:10
You can find this story in The Beginner’s Bible on page 257.

Lesson
In today’s lesson, we read about about Jonah. Jonah learned a
lesson in how important it is to follow God’s plan and always come to God
in prayer. God had a plan for each of our lives. We can talk to God about
this in prayer too, just like Jonah.

Plans for Connecting

“Be still and know that I am God.”
(Psalm 46:10)

Recent events have forced many of us to slow down. With new recommendations coming out from the CDC, we have decided to provide opportunities to gather online. We will be using an online meeting website called Zoom. In addition to this Sunday’s worship services, we will also have a time for our Wee and Jr. worshippers to “meet” this week as well. We will be providing the following opportunities for our Promise family:

Wee Worship Wednesday at 10:00 AM.  Ms. Megan will be hosting a Zoom meeting, leading our Wee worshippers through this week’s Bible story. A coloring sheet will also be available by visiting our Children’s Ministry page.

Jr. Worship will “meet” Thursday at 1:00 PM. Join Ms. Holly as she teaches this week’s Bible lesson, and be sure to wish her a happy birthday while you gather. They will also have a coloring sheet available on our Children’s Ministry page.

Family Friday will by hosted by Pastor Graf at 6:00 PM.  We want to “gather” for prayer and a short Promise Family Devotion.  Also Pastor will be available if anyone has questions.

Sunday Worship – Both our 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM services will gather online this Sunday. In an effort to abide by CDC guidelines, we feel that gathering online is the responsible thing to do. Both services will “meet” by means of Zoom and we invite the congregation to come together in this way as we continue to worship as a Promise family.

We will also be posting each of these recordings to our Website and the sermon will will continue to be available through our Podcast.

To access any of the above opportunities to gather, please click here to join the “meetings” at their designated times.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as we navigate this new way of gathering this week. Pastor Graf and the rest of the staff are here and lifting our Promise community up in prayer!

Having Faith During Times of Anxiety of Fear

Today’s service consisted of several mini sermons. You are welcome to listen to these throughout the week, taking time to reflect after each message.

Sermon Notes

Grace and Peace
Deuteronomy 6:4-6
Mark 1:15

past———–Kairos————–>
Kairos means to think different after. In these moments, the kingdom of heaven can be ushered in. We need to listen and live out what God is telling us.

Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous…for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

It is okay to have fear but do not BE afraid. Acknowledge the fear but do not live in it. Have faith!

Cruciform life – live by faith and wisdom.
Mark 1:15 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength, and mind.
Proverbs 4
Get wisdom and understanding.
Where are you going for wisdom?
Exercise faith and wisdom.

Matthew 7
Do not judge or you will be judged.
